CEZARA GURAU

FANFRENETICS explores through a tragico-comedy lense how certain thoughts and experiences can feel like nightmares: not only in dreams, but in everyday life. The installation transforms language and emotion into a chaotic, theatrical environment.

The process began with the deconstruction of the word “FANFRENETICS” – “fan”, “fanfare”, “frenetic”, and “fanatic” – during which the attempt of understanding its meaning became increasingly obsessive and unsettling, the same as the attempt of finding one’s way out amidst the sea of rejections.

The work reflects the aftermath of repetitive and overwhelming loops of events as well as the importance of humor while navigating them.

This installation has been realized during CREATION LAB Course by Movement Laboratory.
